III. Recruitment Initiatives

First activity reasonably calculated to disseminate information about broadcasting employment opportunities to job candidates.

Although full time job openings happen seldom, Latto Northland Broadcasting continually encourages individuals interested in a career in the broadcasting industry to provide us with applications and resumes for our files so that a greater number of individuals may be considered when an opening arises.  To that end, an active program of job and information posting with Itasca Community College provides direct access to a broad cross section of potential applicants from all over the country and an ongoing relationship with Brown Technical College provides us with industry specific outreach in the Minneapolis, St. Paul and greater surrounding Minnesota areas.

Second activity reasonably calculated to disseminate information about broadcasting employment opportunities to job candidates.

Focused newspaper listings, on air announcements and the diligent use of the MN Job Service Department to post openings.  These postings result in republication by other organizations, such as the Minnesota Broadcasters Association, which then gets our job postings viewed by a much larger and diverse group of people than we could accomplish on our own.  Many of these organizations issue monthly newsletters to multiple groups, many of which are concerned with employment opportunities for women and minorities.  All job listings by Latto Northland Broadcasting clearly and strongly encourage women and minorities to apply.  Latto Northland Broadcasting also participates in local job fairs as the opportunity to do so arises.
